Apple Intelligence, a new feature offered by Apple, has now been released for select iPhone models including the iPhone 15 Pro, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the iPhone 16. To use this feature initially, users were required to have at least 4GB of storage space available on their devices. However, as Apple continues to expand and improve upon its AI functionality, it is expected that they will require more and more storage capacity from iPhone users.
According to an official update posted on Apple's website following the release of iOS 18.2, Apple Intelligence now requires at least 7GB of storage space. As time goes on and Apple continues to develop their AI capabilities further, it is possible that they may increase this requirement to over 10GB or higher.
If you are someone who typically stores all of their data on their device without considering space constraints, using Apple Intelligence will likely force you to make sacrifices in terms of data deletion or consolidation if you wish to continue using this feature going forward.
For those with limited storage needs even before upgrading to an AI-enabled model like the iPhone with only 128GB of storage available, upgrading with AI will result in even less usable space due to AI taking up significant room within your phone's memory capacity.
