缺乏新作?Take Two CEO:我们需要更多原创游戏

Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently stated that relying on sequels is not the key to success. While Take-Two, with multiple successful series under their belt, typically sees sequels outsell their predecessors, Zelnick believes that new IPs are essential and crucial.

Zelnick clarified that even the most popular games in the industry will eventually decline and become obsolete. Therefore, game developers must constantly release new series works as long as it hasn't become too late. Although this carries a significant risk, it is imperative.

"We have to experiment with new things and develop new IPs; otherwise, we may end up wasting resources trying to keep our heads above water," said Zelnick.

However, some players believe that Rockstar Games' parent company's statements sound hypocritical. Take-Two recently sold its independent game subsidiary Private Division, which had released many indie games before.
